The goal of the Team is simple: Promote the growth of Off-Road Racing in Missouri, and Establish St. Louis as a breeding ground for future generations of Elite riders. SBR RACING BELIEVES THAT: Whether or not you race to Win or to simply push yourself to do your personal best, the lessons learned while training & racing have the power to strengthen not only your body & heart, but also your mind. Off-Road Races should, by design, allow both the Beginner Rider and the Veteran Racer to push themselves to their limit and test their ability. This is the core driver behind all our Racing. The St Louis Area has every resource it needs to produce Elite level off-road cyclists, while also fostering a community of riders that inspire, encourage, and support each other and the trails we love. MEMBER REQUIREMENTS/CODE OF CONDUCT:
SBR Racing Members should always:
- Promote the STL Mountain Biking Community and the Trails we love!
- Always wear a SBR Racing Jersey when Racing
- Always note “SBR Racing p/b YING YING YING” as your Team whenever possible
- Always make sure you get photos of yourself when racing in your Team Kit. Whether you Podium or not, photos help promote the Team and its Sponsors, which open bigger and bigger doors for the future!
- Race HARD, but with Respect. We know yelling when your HR is pinned in a race is sometimes the only option AND that passing in a Race has inherent risks, but please be conscious of how you are racing and how you are talking before and after the race. Members should never purposely put other racers at risk or talk down to other riders. We need to Support & Encourage, not to Intimidate or Discourage.
- While not required, we hope that all members will help promote our Races & Events. Help with promoting these Races is not only important for finding Volunteers (which are truly the backbone of our Races), but also for building our local MTBiking community and encouraging/inspiring new riders to get into racing.
